Professor Boselli said today there certain stages of the battles that took as the background around the village of Montebello, particularly in the locality Genestrello. He also framed the Italian political situation from 800 to the constitution of the Kingdom of Italy. A
Montebello were two battles.
The first dates back to 1800, during the second Italian campaign of Napoleon, the French occupied Pavia and crossed the Po, reached Stratford Voghera and then marched to the foot of the dell'Oltrepo hills' Pavese.
Casteggio Once in, the French fought against the Austrians in the evening the battle moved to Genestrello that was conquered by the French. The Austrians had many losses.
The next day Bonaparte was preparing to march on Marengo.

French and Austrians fought back in the countryside near Montebello during the War of Independence (1859).
The march of the Austrians was hampered by the Piedmontese with their numerous interventions. Among Genestrello
